Determination of nitrites and nitrates in plasma-activated deionized water by microchip capillary electrophoresis

A fast and sensitive microanalytical method—microchip capillary electrophoresis (MCE)—was successfully applied for the determination of trace concentrations of NO2 and NO3 ions in deionized water. These ions were deposited in water by kHz-driven dielectric barrier discharge atmospheric pressure plasma jet in argon. MCE allowed simultaneous detection of NO2 and NO3 ions with high sensitivity.
