Effect of Impurities on Solubility and Metastable Zone Width of Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate
-  26 April 2024
Graphical Abstract
Recovering manganese from waste batteries can promote the development of new energy. Herein, nickel sulfate and cobalt sulfate, representative impurities in waste battery leachate, are selected to examine their influence on the crystallization thermodynamics and nucleation of manganese sulfate monohydrate by the alterations in solubility and metastable zone width, and a possible mechanism is proposed based on model analysis.

Enhanced Performance of Fe/WO3 Terahertz Dielectric Lenses
-  18 April 2024
Graphical Abstract
Iron nanosheets, 70–350 nm thick, coated transparently on glass and WO3 lenses using ionic technique markedly alter the optical properties of WO3. Namely, the absorption increases over 240-fold, bandgap is redshifted and dielectric properties are enhanced. The optical conductivity, terahertz cutoff (1.0-30 THz), charge density, and infrared plasmon frequency of WO3 are also improved. Iron-coated WO3 is promising for multifunctional optoelectronics.

Influence of Cerium Oxide Abrasive Particle Morphologies on Polishing Performance
-  9 April 2024
Graphical Abstract
Two morphologies of cerium oxide (CeO2) abrasive particles, octahedral, and spheroidal, are synthesized by solvothermal method using cerium nitrate hexahydrate (Ce(NO3)3-6H2O) as raw material. Comparing the bandgap energies and the polishing performance of the two types of abrasive particles as well as molecular dynamics simulations reveal that the synthesized octahedral CeO2 particles possesses higher surface chemical activity and mechanical destructive effect.

Method for Determining Crystal Grain Size by X‐Ray Diffraction
-  16 January 2018
Graphical Abstract
In this paper, the relationship between the applicable scope of Scherrer equation and the variation of X-ray diffraction angle are calculated. Meantime, Si(100) is taken as an example to calculate the maximum grain size of Si(100) that can be obtained in the actual measurement processing based on the Scherrer equation.
Belok/XSA Diffraction Beamline for Studying Crystalline Samples at Kurchatov Synchrotron Radiation Source
-  12 March 2020
Graphical Abstract
Introduction of “Belok/XSA” beamline-modernization is presented here with commissioning of a modern synchrotron beamline with unique capabilities for the structural analysis of single and polycrystalline samples. The beamline is designed to perform important tasks in modern crystallography and become extremely demanded in the chemical, biological, material science and archaeological community in Russia.
