Overview

Aims and Scope

Immunity, Inflammation and Disease is a peer-reviewed, open access, interdisciplinary journal providing rapid publication of research across the broad field of immunology. Immunity, Inflammation and Disease gives rapid consideration to papers in all areas of clinical and basic research. The journal is indexed in Medline and the Science Citation Index Expanded (part of Web of Science), among others. It welcomes original work that enhances the understanding of immunology in areas including:

Cellular and molecular immunology; clinical immunology; allergy; immunochemistry; immunogenetics; immune signalling; immune development; imaging; mathematical modelling; autoimmunity; transplantation immunology; cancer immunology; Infection and infection models, virology, parasitology, microbiology; and Inflammation and inflammation models.

Our philosophy is that all sound data and evidence-driven immunology research has value and should be published and shared with the community therefore manuscripts within the scope of the journal will be evaluated for publication on the bases of;

  • scientific rigor
  • evidence that the data support conclusions
  • adherence to technical and ethical standards

Immunity, Inflammation and Disease publishes original research articles, reviews, editorials, commentaries, registered reports and letters. Original research papers must report well-conducted research with conclusions supported by the data presented in the paper.

In order for research to advance, negative results, which often make a valuable contribution to the field, should be published. However, articles containing negative or null results are frequently not considered for publication or rejected by journals. We welcome papers of this kind, where appropriate and valid power calculations are included that give confidence that a negative result can be relied upon.
